A Shade Colder. Becoming

The eleventh issue, Becoming focuses on themes of care work, parenting and small art histories, highlighting Merike Estna, early Baltic feminist art and Sámi art. Through the works of Mia Wennerstrand and August Joost, the issue explores the darker shades of familial relationships. It also takes a closer look at the intersections of curatorial work and personal life. Additionally, Becoming provides an overview of the current state of Baltic art institutions and the art scene.

 

Contributors to the new issue include writers and artists from Estonia, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Norway: Laurie Cluitmans, Mia Wennerstrand, Eda Tuulberg, August Joost, Joonas Pulkkinen, Agnė Narušytė, Jana Kukaine, Mare Tralla, Marion Charlotte Bouvier, Anders Härm, Liina Siib, Joanna Hoffmann, Zane Onckule, Monika Lipšic, Lolita Jablonskienė and Līna Birzaka‑Priekule, Alexei Gordin, Katya Buchatska.

The printed issue comes with a stickers sheet, commissioned from artist Katya Buchatska. Half of the proceeds of the sales of the first issue will be donated to the Ukrainian Emergency Art Fund.
